Cravotta Interiors designs homes people love being in and escaping to, homes that embrace a sense of history and a sense of adventure, homes that become part of their biography and tell the world who they are. Taken altogether that sense of belonging can be translated into a place called home.
The Firm
Founded in 1996, Cravotta Interiors is a full-service interior design studio based in Austin, Texas, specializing in high-end residential and boutique commercial projects nationwide. Revered for tending to every last detail, the firm takes a holistic approach to materiality, composition and craft to create spaces that elicit elegance and tranquility.
Every Cravotta Interiors project begins with a client-centered strategy and results in spaces infused with meaning and purpose. An artistic perspective, passion for timeless design and caring approach lead every decision throughout the design journey.
Projects range from new construction to full-scale remodel projects and everything in between. Anticipating every client need throughout the process, services include interior and exterior architectural specifications and detailing; sourcing, specification and procurement of furnishings, art, and accessories; project management; and turn-key installations.
Mark Cravotta
Founder & Principal
Mark’s passion for design was first realized in his years as a fine art painter. Today that background continues to inform his approach to interiors as composition. In every residential and hospitality project that Mark takes on, the starting place is always this: dreaming with few limits and fulfilling the intangible idea of "place" into the tangible spaces of “home”.
Not a maximalist, a minimalist nor a purist, Mark prefers mixing simple elements — hand-crafted, beautiful and surprising — that when combined, manifest in something that feels like quiet delight. By taking a deep dive to decipher the DNA of each client, Mark designs homes that are truly custom fit.
Having lived in Austin since 1985, Mark considers himself as “a naturalized Austinite.” He lives with his wife and daughters in a 100-year old home that’s built around the oldest Burr Oak tree in the city.
